One of our most popular questions! "How do I maintain my coating?".
The first thing you should know is that LESS IS MORE. From the second our coating is applied to your vehicle it's doing it's job. It has created a hard hydrophobic, UV-protected shield.
A common misconception is that you need to clean your vehicle once a week or twice a month after it's coated. It's quite the opposite. Many of our client's notice that after their vehicle is coated, it stays cleaner for MUCH longer. This is because all of the road grime, pollen, and dirt has trouble sticking to the coating, unlike an uncoated vehicle that attracts EVERYTHING.
1) First and foremost, make sure you're cleaning with spot free water. This will help to prevent water spots from building up on top of your coating, which would prevent your coating from functioning properly.
2) Secondly, A PH neutral soap is a MUST. Using a high Alkaline soap can damage the coating.
3) CLEAN RAGS. It is imperative that you're using fresh, clean microfiber towels. In fact, we use brand new microfiber towels on every ceramic coated vehicle we service.
4) Absolutely no car washes. Regardless if it's brushes or brushless. Here's the thing...those brushes are spinning ALL day, collecting dirt, grime and god knows what else from OTHER PEOPLE'S CARS, and then spinning onto your vehicle. Those brushes are NEVER cleaned and the rotations of those brushes eventually wear down your coating. The problem with the touchless car washes is that they often use harsh alkaline cleaners to break down dirt and grime as a substitute for not having brushes. Those alkaline cleaners tend to stain your paint and will damage the coating.
We do provide a maintenance service for all of our client's so long as you're within our service area (Pinellas and Pasco County). We recommend this simply because we're the professionals. We have the proper tools and equipment to safely maintain your vehicle. To schedule a maintenance detail, simply use our easy online booking, or give us a call at 727-642-0604.
